HIFU
High Intensity Focused Ultrasound
What is HIFU?
HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a noninvasive treatment for facial aging. It uses ultrasound energy to encourage the production of collagen (for structure and elasticity), which results in firmer, tighter skin.
A HIFU facial emits ultrasound waves to create heat at a deep level in the skin which in turn damages targeted skin cells, causing the body to try and repair them. The body then produces collagen to aid in cell regrowth. As HIFU focuses on a specific tissue site below the skin's surface, there is no damage in the upper layers of the skin.
Each session typically lasts 30-90 minutes - one to six sessions may be required depending on the results clients want to achieve. HIFU facials do not require any preparation and when a session is over, there is no recovery time.
